Central Texas is the same latitude as southern Japan. Which may be one reason why this mushroom is only found here in Central Texas and Japan. Just another reason for me to go visit and the name also has the word devil in it. Another favorite of mine. No, I'm not a satanist. I just like evil things! They are sexy.
